Care instructions:

Your serving board is made of olive wood, ash, walnut, teak, or oak and has been lovingly handcrafted and finished in the Allgäu region of Germany.

Regardless of which wood you have chosen, all our boards are FSC-certified. They are hard-wearing and designed to be long-lasting companions for everyday use.

To ensure you enjoy your serving board for a long time, please observe the following care instructions:

Yes, please:

  • Heat-resistant up to approx. 60°C, e.g., for a tea cup or coffee mug
  • Clean your serving board exclusively by hand
  • Use lukewarm water and, if necessary, a little dish soap.
  • Always moisten both sides of the board when cleaning to avoid tension in the wood and warping.
  • Stand the board upright to dry so that air can circulate freely.
  • Should individual wood fibers rise after cleaning, these can simply be removed with a sanding fleece or sanding sponge.
  • Maintain your board regularly with oil. Linseed oil, coconut oil, or olive oil are particularly suitable.
  • For optimal care, we recommend our in-house blend of linseed oil, orange oil, and beeswax.
  • Allow the oil to soak in for 24 hours after application and then lightly polish the surface. This allows the wood to retain its natural beauty.

Please avoid:

  • Cleaning in the dishwasher
  • Use in the microwave
  • Soaking in water
  • Temperatures above 60°C
  • Cutting on the epoxy resin surfaces
  • Oiling the resin surfaces, as this can cause them to become matte
  • Contact of the resin with alcohol or alcohol-based products (e.g., disinfectants), as this can also cause the surface to become matte

Tip:

If you are serving strongly staining or intensely smelling foods on the board, rinse the board briefly with cold water before use. Afterward, clean it as soon as possible, also using cold water.

Product information:

Your candle was lovingly handcrafted in the Allgäu region of Germany using high-quality soy and rapeseed wax.

Both the wax and the fragrance oils used are free from:

  • Parabens
  • Palm wax
  • Silicones
  • PEG
  • CMR substances
  • Phthalates

Naturally, all our candles are completely cruelty-free.

To ensure you enjoy your candle for a long time, please observe the following instructions.

Good to know:

  • When you light your candle, let it burn until the top layer of wax has completely melted. This ensures the candle burns evenly and prevents tunneling.
  • Trim the wick regularly to avoid soot formation:
  • Cotton wick: maximum 7–10 mm
  • Wooden wick: maximum 5 mm.
  • Always trim the wick when cooled, ideally immediately before lighting it next time.
  • To protect the container, extinguish the candle when about 0.5 cm of wax remains and do not relight it. This has already been taken into account for the stated burn time.
  • Please note that not every wick extinguishes by itself. Therefore, never leave the candle burning unattended.
  • The beechwood bowl is made of untreated natural wood. Wood is a living material and reacts to different room temperatures and humidity. This can cause natural cracks to form over time. To protect delicate furniture surfaces, we recommend placing a coaster under the bowl.

Please note:

Do not place your candle in a draft to avoid soot formation and uneven burning.

  • Keep a sufficient distance from walls and flammable objects such as curtains or decorations.
  • Never leave the candle burning unattended.
  • Keep children and pets away from the flame.
  • The container also becomes hot during burning. Therefore, only touch the candle when cooled.
  • Extinguish the candle carefully and ensure that the flame is completely out.

Tip:

Glasses can be cleaned in the dishwasher afterward and used, for example, as a storage jar. The lid seals the glass airtight. Other containers are excellent for use as decorations, flower vases, or for many other creative purposes.

Candles in glass

Candles in glass are generally older products that may have visual defects. These do not affect the quality or function of the candle.

Candles in beechwood bowls

For candles in olive wood bowls, the bowl may be damaged or cracked.

Please therefore observe the following instructions:

  • The bowl is not completely leak-proof.
  • We recommend not lighting the candle and using it as a room fragrance instead.
  • Should you still light the candle, be sure to place a coaster underneath and never leave the candle unattended, as wax may leak out.
  • Do not leave the room while it is burning.

Despite these limitations, we hope you enjoy your candle.

General instructions

  • When lighting the candle, always let it burn until the top layer of wax has completely melted. This ensures the candle burns evenly and prevents tunneling.

  • Cotton wick: 7–10 mm
  • Wooden wick: maximum 5 mm
    Always trim the wick when cooled, ideally immediately before lighting it next time.
  • At the bottom of the candle is a metal base intended to extinguish the flame about 1 cm before the end of the burn time. Should the candle not go out by itself, please extinguish it manually.

  • The container becomes hot during burning
  • After extinguishing, always check that the flame is completely out

Tip:

Many of our containers can be reused after the candle has burned down. Pour hot water into the container to loosen remaining wax residue. Glasses can then be cleaned in the dishwasher and used, for example, as a storage jar. The wooden lid seals the glass airtight. Other containers are excellent for use as decorations, flower vases, or for many other creative purposes.

Dish Towels and Napkins - Half-Linen

Half-linen combines the natural quality of flax with the softness of cotton. The long-lasting natural material develops a pleasant texture with every wash and becomes more beautiful over time.

Care:

  • Before first use, soak the product in cold water for about an hour. This allows the flax fibers to expand optimally and become more elastic.
  • During the first wash at 40°C, the fabric may shrink slightly – this is perfectly natural.
  • After just a few washes, the half-linen becomes pleasantly soft and develops its characteristic texture.
  • For an especially beautiful result, iron while slightly damp and with plenty of steam.
  • Pre-treat stubborn stains with liquid gall soap, let soak overnight, and then wash at 40°C. This is gentle on the material, the print, and the environment.

With proper care, your product will remain a beautiful and long-lasting everyday companion for many years.

Dish Towels and Napkins - Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is a high-quality natural material. It is hard-wearing, easy to care for, and becomes pleasantly soft with every wash.

Care:

  • The product can be washed at 40°C.
  • During the first wash, the fabric may shrink slightly – this is perfectly natural.
  • For an especially beautiful result, iron with plenty of steam.
  • Pre-treat stubborn stains with liquid gall soap, let soak overnight, and then wash at 40°C.

With proper care, the product will remain a beautiful and long-lasting everyday companion for a long time.

Bags & Pouches

The bags and pouches from NORDKYND are made from an innovative material based on cellulose, natural rubber, water, and color pigments.

The FSC®-certified natural material is durable, sustainable, and develops a characteristic, leather-like look with regular use.

Care:

  • Remove stains carefully with water and a little dish soap. Then, finish with a soft microfiber cloth, wipe with clear water, and let air dry.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring pads, or brushes.
  • The product can be machine washed at 30°C.
  • If necessary, iron at cotton temperature (three dots). Please use baking parchment as an interlining and do not iron directly over the label.

Place Mats & Cutlery Pockets

The reusable place mats and cutlery pockets from NORDKYND are made from an innovative material based on cellulose, natural rubber, water, and color pigments.

After the first wash and subsequent ironing, the characteristic used look is created. Each product is then finished using a manual screen printing process with water-based colors and sustainably impregnated.

Care:

  • Remove stains as soon as possible with water and a little dish soap.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring pads, or brushes.
  • The product can be machine washed at 40°C.
  • For an especially beautiful result, iron while slightly damp and use baking parchment as an interlining.
